Fidelis Care - Rochester Regional Office

I am elderly and disable individual on long term Fi delis care for home health care. No service nor reply from nursing staff or coordinator. It takes all day to reach anybody. No one picks or answer the call. I have been with them close to a year, no service. Worse staff and service.

Recently got fidelis because I lost my insurance. I have had arthritis since I was 24 and I’m 33. We have tried multiple different medicines and finally found one that worked and that’s what I’ve been on for 4 years. Well fidelis doesn’t want to pay for the shots so they denied the request for my medicine and told my doctor we have to try different medicines before we can get the cimzia. I’ve already done that and cimzia was the winner. So now they denied my medicine request, for something my body has been used to for 4 years.

I could write a five page essay about what a horrible experience I have had with Fidels Care and with New York State of Heath. I have made countless phone calls, wasted hours upon hours being passed back and forth between customer service departments and getting no where. I was overcharged hundreds of dollars, it was taken out of bank account with no letter in the mail stating they were going to do so or any type of bill/statement. I ended up having to file an appeal with the company which was a whole other process. Luckily I won the part of the appeal! But three months later I am still calling Fidels over and over again trying to get the refund I was awarded. I wish my experiences upon no one. Take your time and call around to find a better insurance company!

Needed a sleep study test for possible sleep apnea. My doctor sent for one TWICE and both times Fidelis care denied authorization for it because they thought it was "medically unnecessary". How do they know? Absolutely ridiculous, I will be seeking other coverage

zero stars. I am a physician. I have had the unfortunate experience of trying to get a very appropriate and procedure authorized for a patient. FIDELIS Careless does nothing but obstruct and delay. It is common for physicians these days to have to appeal for auth. No other provider makes the process as difficult and obstructive. I strongly URGE anyone looking for a provider to look at ANY other option than Fidelis. I have filed fraud complaints with NYS dept of health.
