I decided to give this a try! Huge mistake! It’s costing me so much more money and so much more grief! They don’t care about people and their needs! This is just a grift! I am going back to original Medicare as soon as I can! As a caregiver to 2 seriously sick male family members, I’d hoped this plan would make life and care easier. It hasn’t! My husband was weak and ill after a serious infection and needed more care than I was physically able to handle. This plan only gave him 3 weeks in rehab and kicked him out “because he hadn’t made enough progress”! He became ill with Covid a day before he was discharged to my home with my immunocompromised son! He ended up back in the hospital 5 days later. They are currently denying payment for the readmission! 😡

My wife joined me to get Johns Hopkins Medicare Advantage HMO plan in March 2024. However, there are no primary care physicians available in our area that can take her. The first available PCP can see her would be in June 2026. After much conversations, she settled on a PCP in Germantown office, and 1st appointment available is May 10, 2024. We have just heard that our 1st grandson would arrive any time now. My daughter OB doctor told her that all visitors need to have TDAP. We both contacted our PCPs, and I am asked to call the office to get TDAP. While Elsie is asked to go to an urgent care clinic or a pharmacy to get her TDAP. My questions are: (1) why the JH Medicare Advantage plan enrolled my wife while there is no PCP can be assigned to her? Get the premium from CMS with no c

My husband just started with Medicare and John's Hopkins Medicare Advantage. Lots of easy to read information on the website. Surprised there is no way to sign up online to have his premiums deducted from our bank account; had to mail a voided check. Didn't get a 1st bill, on the 2nd bill showed past due. But we're paid up now, hopefully things will go smoothly from here on.

Though I have been with John's Hopkins Advantage Plan (medicare) since January 2020 when I went on Medicare A &B they suddenly cancelled my insurance saying it is because I don't have Medicare part B. I was on the phone with them for an hour and they said they would look into the situation. In the meantime I contacted Medicare to confirm that I had Medicare part B. They confirmed and said the problem was with John's Hopkins Advantage. John's Hopkins has not returned a call as they assured me they would. In the meantime they advised me not to receive medical care to avoid being charged without their coverage. I had to cancel my mammogram, could not get a prescription filled for statins and was unable to communicate with my doctor about a lab test result than could indicate kidney failure.

The worst Medicare Advantage Plan in Maryland. After two years I now understand why Medicare gives them a 3.5 stars. No problems with Doctors and facilities. My issues are with the insurance company. Was referred by my primary doctor to a specialist at a JH facility in Baltimore. Was informed by my insurance that the JH facility was not in my plan and there would be a facility fee. Asked what the fee would be and neither my insurance or the facility could tell me. I guess they wanted a blank check. My cardiologist scheduled an imaging procedure for me and it was rejected by my insurance as “medically unnecessary “ not knowing my medical history. Better plans out there and am in the process of switching to a five star plan.
