University of Michigan Health Plan (UM Health Plan)

Would have been nice to know this plan was going off ACA before I signed up last year, but of course they only let you know after you've signed up. Awful health plan.

Literally the worst most useless health insurance. No help. I have to call them before and multiple times after going to any appointment. Nothing covered. Not even if it’s specifically listed in your benefits, they don’t deny anything they just only pay out a couple dollars. You’re much better off telling medical billing dept that you don’t have insurance because they’ll give you better rates and you’ll end up paying thousands less than if you go through this insurance (regardless of what plan you have)

Was told my shoe inserts were covered by a representative on the phone. Paid 436$ and podiatrist billed insurance. Called two more times to confirm they were covered, every time I was assured they would be covered. PHP then denied the inserts claim when they received it and says they aren’t covered. Was told by a representative to file a grievance because it clearly states in my records that I was told it was covered three different times and they denied my grievance claim. Switched insurances immediately and I make sure all my coworkers know to not choose this insurance plan. They will straight up lie to you about what’s covered. They now have a recorded message when you call that says just because a representative says it’s covered doesn’t mean it really is, that is a scam and sho

Denies all claims saying its secondary insurance while my bills remain unpaid. Bought through the federal marketplace as my ONLY insurance and I pay them $1000 a month. Numerous calls...all they can tell me is that their system flagged it! Still waiting for a resolution , but I did cancel and do not recommend to anyone

Worst insurance, before getting the help you need for a injury you have to go through physical therapy, no matter what, or pain clinic. I waited a month to see a doctor and ended up with a PA who explained nothing and went straight to physical therapy. To go to PT and have that great sparrow insurance will cost me out of pocket over $600 at minimum, at 2 times a week average So yes sparrows insurance is a scam, only see sparrow doctors if you don't want to fight these scam artist. Never would expect insurance knows more than a doctor but they do according to insurance. SPARROW INSURANCE IS A SCAM, MONEY GRAB COMPANY, Not health insurance
