United Concordia Co

Been covered under them for 10 years. Been to the dentist twice yet they will still only cover 1/3 of what the dentist charged. They like the free money for the 9 years I don't use the coverage but when it comes time for a filling they won't pay. Most people like me cannot switch because it is provided by the employer, so this review is to the employers, find a company that will actually cover your employees procedures. $469 for three fillings and a cleaning, this is why good dentists don't want to be in their network.

One of my crowns became detached from my tooth and was lost. I had to see the dentist for replacement of the crown. United Concordia rejected the claim for the crown because they stated that "the x-ray received appears to be post-operative, not pre-operative. This service requires a pre-treatment, diagnostic x-ray of the reported tooth for benefit determination to be completed". I don't understand this because the dentist took the x-rays prior to working on the tooth. Just who is evaluating these claims? Calling their customer service was useless. Also, I had United Concordia Dental for over 15 years thru my job. The co-pays are much, much higher now. I will be reviewing other dental insurance to see if I can get something better.

Covered twice by this insurance and still I pay large co pays looking for new dental insurance
