National Guardian Life Insurance Company

I wanted to prearrange my funeral arrangements. I did all of the paperwork but my children said that they didn’t want me paying any more for than I was already paying for my original insurance. So I cancelled the policy with in 2 days of leaving the funeral home. I was told that I would get my refund back in 7 days then it went to 10 then 21days. I’m annoyed and angry at this point because it took 3 days to withdraw it from my account but takes 21 days to refund it in the same account they took it out of. I told them I was glad this happened now instead of later when it time to for arrangements that may be needed before the policy was paid in full. My children would be going through the same thing. This insurance company is making money off of the interest daily until it’s returned.

I’ve been with this company for decades now and honestly it’s just getting worse and worse. I moved and just trying to update my address but required a letter in the mail and no other method to update. Which also requires some notarized paperwork. I have never had this much of an issue just to change an address.

I sat on the phone for an hour on hold, no one answered and then they hung up. Very frustrating. Just wanted to make a full policy payment. Thinking about cancelling.

About 3 years ago I was notified that I missed the annual payment. Since then, I've contacted customer service, sent email with proof of payment to the address they provided. I have written letters to every address I can find and included a copy of the canceled check. The problem has never been corrected and I've never heard back from any of the letters.

They are giving my family the run around instead of paying. I get that's the goal of these type insurance companies.
