Wawanesa’s handling of my policy is beyond frustrating, it was flat out unacceptable! On 01/30/26 I called to notify them there was an error on my Motor Vehicle Record that I was not aware and was in the process of correcting it and there was a possibility it might not be corrected before the policy expired on 02/15/26. The mistake was not mine, but rather the court’s for giving me incorrect information on handling a traffic violation. The Wawanesa representative I spoke to stated my policy could be reinstated with no issues within 30 days of lapsing and possibly 90 days with a supervisor’s approval since I was a loyal customer that had been with them for over 10 years. Wow Wawanesa has really gone down the toilet. I have been with them in some capacity since I got my drivers license at 16 years old and I never thought I’d be left short after a loss but I certainly am experiencing that. I guess it’s a good wake up call that it’s on the auto side rather than the home side. I know now to start shopping around. So this is what happened. I was rear ended by an unlicensed, uninsured, drunk driver. I have paid into “uninsured motorist” so if something like this happens I should be able to fix or replace my car. Well that didn’t happen, it hasn’t even came close and wawanesa direct deposited money in my account without my approval and salvage titled my car and I can’t replace what I had with what they gave me, not even close. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received regarding my recent hit and run incident. After being a loyal customer for 20 years, I expected much more from your team during this difficult time. It is incredibly frustrating to hear that you require assistance from me to connect with the at-fault insurer when I have consistently paid my premiums on time and have had no accidents or tickets. I would like to provide an update regarding my now denied insurance claim. My vehicle was stolen and severely vandalized. The individuals responsible damaged the front bumper, shattered the window and windshield, destroyed a tire, caused significant interior damage, and ultimately blew the engine during what appears to have been a joyride. A police report was filed at the time of the incident in November 2024, documenting the theft and related damages. Despite the clear evidence and the extensive documentation I have provided, the insurance company has denied my claim on the basis that there is “no proof” the vehicle was stolen.
