Before a couple of very good employees retired they were very helpful. Unfortunately the last time I had to call the woman I was transferred to kept interrupting me (I'm not good with explaining things, so I'm kind of slow) and biting my head off. Hopefully this won't happen again because they have been very helpful (always smiling too) in the past. We'll see. Could have just been having a bad day. Everyone does occasionally. I only call once a year usually so hoping a bad day is all it was.

Please read this review to possibly save hundreds of dollars. I have been with Sutherland and Jeanne for three years, my provider is Travelers. At the one year anniversary I called Sutherland to see if I could save money on my home policy. After weeks of no help from anyone in the office Jeannie called and said there were no options to lower my premium. At the second anniversary the exact same scenario played out. Called the office and got no help after weeks, Jeannie was out the office. She did call later and again said there were no options to lower my premium. Then this year/third anniversary rolled around and my premium went from $2243 to $2863, a $620 or 22% increase. Of course I was not happy, who would be? Firstly, I admit straight off that this is unfair, because I’m not even a customer. But, I walk by this office almost daily and it always feels creepy to me. If they have been around since 1938, I’m betting the building hasn’t been refreshed in a long, long, long time. The old sheer curtains covering the windows look like they are from a dilapidated abandoned house. Nothing about the outside says “welcome “. No flowers, beat up parking area, dirty windows. I’m sorry but I wouldn’t be comfortable just walking in the place.

They are great folks who have been in the business at least generations that I know of. They are one of the top independent agencies in town, with great reputation in the business community, for good cause.
