New London County Mutual Insurance Company

NLC is the most unprofessional and inept company I have every worked with. I prepaid a homeowners policy to cover November-November. In the middle of the coverage year, I sold the home and canceled my remaining policy. I recently received a collections notice from a law firm stating they covered me through the entire policy period and an additional month and owed them the money for that time period. After researching and finding all of my home sale documents and submitting to the lawyers, I got a call from the law firm saying "NLC said oops, you were right and I owe them nothing". They never called me to discuss the policy they wanted money for or notify me that my coverage was past due, which would have avoided this whole situation. Instead they sent it straight to collections. This

This is the worst company I've ever seen. I filed a claim for my roof in July and they haven't even responded. Winter has arrived and now my house is getting worse and I can't do anything about it. They don't answer the phone and they don't work. They are the most irresponsible people I've ever encountered.

I wish I could give them a 0 star rating. NLC is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Canceled our homeowners policy right before our last payment was due because there are two people listed on the deed to the house and they only allow one named insured. They only want my husband listed on our policy and no one else (sexist and outdated much??). No issues taking our money for months and months, but all of a sudden we get dropped for a BS reason. Never had a claim for homeowners or for our cars. Thanks for nothing NLC. Definitely a scam - think twice before trusting this company and giving them your money!

Horrible Insurance company. When one has to deal with the emotional stress of a loss/damage, it would be nice to have an insurance company that is comforting rather than confrontational. Additionally they tend to lure you into a low rate for the first year only to increase the premium 30% the following year. Look elsewhere.

Just received a good quote but due to terrible reviews went with another company. Better to spend the money for peace of mind
