Navy Mutual

As a relative working through the claims process I would not recommend Navy Mutual. Two years after my father's passing I am still working through the claims process. Navy Mutual has lost both my father's death certificate and will, so those documents are having to be resubmitted. It's very frustrating and the unprofessional. It worrisome how they can misplace such sensitive documents.

Navy Mutual discriminates against Veterans who have certain illnesses. They gladly take your personal information so they can obviously sell for profit no doubt if you are not approved. I believe such organizations should have the balls to say up front what illnesses they will not cover up front before they acquire personal information. Very disappointed in such an organization after I put my life on the line for this country for 26 years, two mobilizations and almost four years in combat. If it did not tried to stab you stick your bite you or eat you it shot at your rocket it mortared IED attempt to near mid-air disasters. This review isn't about the customer service which is decent. This review is about the whole life insurance policy. I have a policy that started in September 2019. There is a period that no dividends are given over a period of two years. After that time, my total cash value has risen to $60K but has only paid out a total of $297 in dividends to raise my insured amount only ~$900. I pay over $900 in premiums each month. This is a horrible return as even corporate and government bonds have paid well over my horrendous return rate. If you're a veteran who needs some insurance, Navy Mutual is the group for you. Their public contact staff is great! I really enjoyed working with them, especially Tabitha, on email and on the phone. They responded quickly to all my questions and issues so I got good coverage at a great rate and the process was fast. Last year, I received some great advice about updating my existing, expiring life insurance policy to a Level II Plus Term policy. During this process, I experienced some minor difficulties accessing my policy and documents online. Thankfully, customer service was excellent, and I was able to receive the information I needed to make a good decision very promptly through phone calls and emails.
