Michael Barends: Allstate Insurance

As a customer for over 15 years, I have been consistently impressed with the exceptional service provided by Michael Barends since he took over the Allstate location. His leadership has resulted in a team of incredible professionals, including Ryan Hill, the office manager, whose knowledge and helpfulness have been invaluable. Thanks to their efforts, I have enjoyed significant savings and the best auto insurance premiums available.

I was asked to provide a review over email; without that prompt we wouldn’t have. I don’t want this to be disregarded as a disgruntled customer. We just ended our relationship with this agency; our family had been with them for 20+ years before Barends purchased Tom Finn’s agency. When it was Tom Finn, we would call and someone (usually Michelle or Julie) would walk us through the pros and cons of filing a claim, etc. This calm and sincere care has not been maintained after the transition. In the last three years, we had a car stolen (through no fault of our own) and two small claims on our home—one of which was the belongings for the stolen car (which we were told by the national office we should do). I attempted to call several times during business hours to update my policy and add a vehicle to replace one that was totaled in an accident. Each time the call went to voicemail, and they have yet to return my message. It's very frustrating not to be able to contact a business during business hours, especially when the situation is time-sensitive. When this agency was owned by Tom Finn, it was a totally different story, but recently it seems this agency does not value its customers. I've moved my business to a different Allstate Agent, and I suggest you do the same.
