Highmark Blue Shield

I called them to ask if I would be charged for a medical procedure. I gave them the name and contact information for the provider I was looking to see. They confirmed this provider was in network. They also confirmed that the costs were covered as I had reached my deductible. I recently received a bill for 1700 for the procedure. When calling the insurance they informed me that the provider even though in network was not a preferred provider and therefore the costs are as if it was not an in network provider. Its seems they don't mind being deceitful in their practices. I will be informing our agency employees of this practice which is causing us unnecessary hardship if they could only be truthful about provider costs.

Worst... Premium is due on the first of the month. If I'm a day or two late they putting my pharmacy account on hold and I'm not able to get my medicine. I call about this every month and the reps and management are rude. This company is in for a huge lawsuit.

The plan itself is extremely expensive and the insurance company refuses to cover pretty much every prescription medication without a pre-authorization. Sometimes, they refuse to cover no matter what. Highmark shouldn't even exist. They are terrible.

When I called them, they answer all questions and clear my doubts, they help me to understand plus the quality of the service with the providers in the network is great. And I asked my doctors to assure that send me a prescriptions that is covered by them so I can have full and better benefits for my medication. I'm so Happy with Highmark Blue Shield.

High mark was very good when I first acquired it. Now seven years later it has increased again. $45 over a 7 year period. It started at $141 then $151 then $169 and now $189. This last time there was no real notification and I’m already locked in till October. Their prices go up mid cycle so your stuck for at least 6 months having to pay the raised premium. I’m going to be looking to switch this year.
