More like Healthcare Enemies. They deny almost all authorization requests from all providers I do billing for, and if it's a procedure that costs over $1k, you might as well not even try. Also, here's an example of scam they have: for instance, you submit a request on Wednesday, and it gets denied on Friday. You get no notification, but suppose you call them for status in due time and are informed of the denial, and request a P2P discussion with the performing doctor. They tell you that a timeframe for P2P is 48 hours from the decision, so you still fit in, and transfer you to the P2P line. An IVR tells you that all reps are busy, asks you to call later and hangs up. You try multiple times the same day, and get the same result, and then business hours are over so you can't arrange a P2P un
Healthcare Partners denied my IVF cycle while discriminating based on my age and refused to pay a previously approved cycle claiming "they didn't see the authorization" as per my doctor. Not true- you did send me an authorization, please comply with your own approvals! The two internal reviewers Dr Padula and Dr Bockenhauer discriminated based on age as per the denial letter. This is against EmblemHealth non-discrimination policy in NYS. Dr Joseph Padula and Dr Susan Bockenhauer are also not fertility specialists yet they are in charge of making important reproductive healthcare decisions for women. Not ok, Healthcare Partners, not ok! Decisions were based on chances of conception as per age and previously failed 2 cycles - again, discriminatory!! And, yes there is a reason the insurance
HORRIBLE SERVICE. THEY DON'T PROCESS CLAIMS CORRECTLY DENY DENY DENY, Months of trying to send in medical records no one cares to process the claims. Reps working horrible, put on hold come back never fixing the issue, just giving redundant info about the claims. Emblem health uses this on purpose to prolong paying on claims. The patient has hearing aid benefit covered at 100% with no pre auth needed. Bill claim and get told needs invoice to pay. Spends 8 months sending in invoice and trying to send claim back for review to get no where. Insane how do you expect Audiologist to stay in business when claims get denied for months\years for no reason. I found out my PC was using HCP when I went to see a specialist he sent me to 3 X and they declined the appointment when I showed up because they said "my insurance has not cleared the coverage yet". I found out it was NOT BCBS which didn't provide the OK but HCP! Every time I seek care outside of my PCP, HCP has been preventing me from receiving the urgent care I desperately need. I did not ask for them to get involved in my health needs, I never signed any documentation , I never spoke to anyone. They may help my PCP but they DO NOTHING for me but prevent me from getting the urgent care I need. Truly a garbage company all around. It is disgusting how they dictate necessary medical care because they feel like it. Been on a medication for years? Not anymore. Need an approval? That’ll take months. My health has declined daily since being on this insurance with their refusal to approve my care. I’ve been with Emblem for years under a different policy with no issues, but I now with this new policy, I will be switching to something else come open enrollment. Never ever again. Truly a pathetic excuse of a company that should be ashamed.
