General Insurance Services

This is the WORST INSURANCE company I have EVER dealt with . It is a part of SELECTIVE INSURANCE GROUP and GENERAL INSURANCE SERVICES . I originally was dealing with the LaPorte office , but received notice that they were bought by HIGHSTREET INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVICES , so I contacted them with a question regarding a community common area as I am Community Association president. I had called regarding different insurance questions in the past , our policy , allowances , coverage, etc . Previously, I had always talked with Katherine (who had written the original policy before my term as president). She always answered everything I asked . This year I called with a question about adding a tire swing on the otherwise totally vacant lot . I called the 800 number on the new document I rece

When I obtained the insurance I was quoted a price of $175. The agent told me my payment was high because he couldn't find that I had previously purchased insurance. I told him several I had insurance on another vehicle this was new. But I accepted the price because of the policy and full cover. 60 days later they go up on my payment $53. I called spoke with an agent she said my payment went up because I never provided proof of insurance. Which I was never told it was required. No letter no email nothing. So I was told if I provided proof of insurance my payment would go back to the original price I was quoted. Which I did while the agent was on the phone, who kept insisting they hadn't received it. Right. I wait 2 days and call back and I'm told they have 6 months to accept my Insurance

I value the great customer service I had as well as the patience Jennifer displayed as we communicated back and forth via phone/email. All of the questions I had were answered prior to our selection of insurance. We intend to use GIS again when we decide to change our life insurance policies over. Thank you for the great customer service!

I've had no complaints using General Insurance Services. I really like how clear and straight forward the communication process has been with something so confusing like insurance. I also think that GIS is really dependable-- when we call for something they always call or email right back.

I really appreciated the time Mary Senderak spent with me explaining the medical health benefits, etc. I also like the fact that she encourages me to contact her if I have any other questions or concerns. She is very knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend her to my family members and friends if they are in need of insurance advice. Keep up the excellent work, Mary.
