My company switched from United healthcare who was the best to AmeriBen Blue Cross Blue shield and they are horrible. I would give zero Stars if I could. I went for my yearly physical yearly blood work all of which is preventative and they're trying to tell me that I still owe a balance because part of my blood work was diagnostic and not preventative. I did the chat and got a screenshot of something that I wasn't even built for wasn't even tested for for a billion date that I didn't even have this insurance coverage. They're probably cheap which is why companies want to use them but they're horrible and myself and other coworkers are now having to pay for what we've never had to pay for when we had United healthcare.

For months, AmeriBen has repeatedly denied valid medical claims by falsely asserting that it is not the primary insurer and directing providers to bill our “other insurance” first. That other insurance is CHAMPVA, which under federal law (38 CFR §§ 17.270 and 17.271) is explicitly prohibited from being primary when a beneficiary has other health insurance. Worst insurance company so stay away! My company switched to them at the beginning of the year and they have continuously denied most of my medical care and refused to pay, even though it's supposed to be covered. I had Cigna before switching and they were great. My out of pocket cost is over 3× the amount it was with Cigna. They're only willing to pay the lower cost care such as routine doctor appointments. They are happy to take your monthly payments and offer very little in return! Honestly, this company is nothing more than a scam.

what a horrible insurance. Just incompetent. Takes forever to get anyone to review a claim, takes 14-21 days to review and then you have to call them to find a decision because they won't tell you. They denied me a claim because I wasn't in the age range of 9-45 but I am 39. So stupid.

Every time I call about my COBRA coverage I get the same person but am told a different story. Sent payment and application over 30 days ago and nothing has been processed and no information received. I get a different processing timeline every time I call. I was given three different websites to set up online payment and none of the three work. I think they like to defer any effort until the COBRA period expires. Truly the worst experience of my life. Whenever I call I hear a fire alarm beeping in the background like someone is working out of their basement. Be warned.
