I had to cancel my trip less than one week before going because of kidney infection. I got my trip amount refunded and there weren't any problems. Will use them again.

I bought insurance through this firm for a National Geographic Expeditions trip. I had to postpone the trip several times. First, there were Covid restrictions on any travel outside the US, then there were Covid issues within the destination country, and finally there was civil unrest inside the country leading to US State Department warnings. NatGeo readily allowed postponements, and did not penalize me in any way. I am now booked for the same trip next year and my deposit has been credited accordingly. However, USI Travel Insurance will not carry over my policy, for which I paid nearly $1500, claiming it exceeds the time limit to do so.
