If I could give them zero stars, I would. 4 months after my claim was paid, they said that they overpaid me. I called in a payment, and it never posted to my account. I tried to pay again online, but the system wouldn't let me in saying that my previous claim was still processing. A month later I had to call again. Sheria, my rep, never returned my calls. I had to mail a check in and still haven't gotten a payment verification. Horrible client services.

The worst experience with a company I have ever had. It took almost 2 months to get my first paid family leave check. Then they sent it to the wrong account. On top of that they will not inform you if for some reason the pictures didn't come through clear of for the proof of birth and you have to call multiple times to even get a straight answer of what's going on. Then you get different story's of what's going on. Absolutely trash company that no employer should use.

You will have to call and call to get them to send you your money. They will outright lie to you so make sure you stay on it. Management backed the employee saying my checks were sent, so it just so happened that TWO of my checks were “lost in the mail” when I receive all of my other mail. You will be on hold at least 15 minutes every phone call. I spent hours trying to collect all of my money. They will be super apologetic when you explain the predicament you are now in having waited so long for your money, but when you call a week later to see what is going on you will learn that nobody did anything and you get more apologies. I would never ever recommend any company using Unum for short-term disability (maternity). The representative, Katrina, was awful and kept asking me for information. This isn't right to be prying into consumers' lives. I never got the 8 weeks of pay for a c-section because they think that somehow after a c-section you just bounce back into work.

They wait several months before paying what they owe.
