Shelter Insurance - Mindi Hiesterman

I came here because I recently got stationed in Fort Riley and I bought a car here. So I needed auto insurance to register it. I remember that very long time ago I had Shelter insurance in Nebraska, it was nice and agent in Nebraska was nice. But here everything is opposite. Agent is rude and disrespectful. While I was waiting for a quote, she was sitting and I was standing, she didn't let me sit. So disrespectful. Finally the price was ok but I turned away because I didn't want to have a deal with this particular agent.

The only good thing is pricing. The service is below the bar. Was talking with one agent and he was telling me I could bundle cars and home. He moved to a different area so I came to this branch. After having to reinstate it 3 times due auto-drafting issues (each time having to pay $300+) I finally got coverage. About a month or 2 ago we got hit with a bad storm and I couldn’t afford a full payment but made a partial and was going to catch up once I was able to work again. But before I could I got a letter in the mail stating that my coverage is dropped, they won’t insure me, and I’m being sent to collections for $87. Not a single phone call from these people. I was very pleased with the service I was provided. One of the best experiences ive had getting Insurance. First let me say I have been with shelter since I could drive a car 10+ years. I haven't had an accident or ticket in 10+ years. I started driving more for work this year and this insurance company literally told me they were raising my premium by 100$. What? I have not been in any accidents, I have no traffic violations, it doesn't make sense. I got a better price and a better plan with Progressive. You would think that this insurance company would value long time customers with good driving records. Honestly, I only stayed with them because I thought they valued me, in return valued them. I called to say that I would be cancelling my insurance because of the raise in price. She simply replied, "Okay." I asked if there was anything I needed to do. The reply was, "Nope." Followe
