I initially chose Shelter Insurance because they offered a competitive rate and seemed like a solid option to get started. Everything was fine—until I was rear-ended and had to file a claim. When I went to drop off the police report, the office was completely empty, with no one at the front desk. Eventually, an unhelpful receptionist emerged, visibly annoyed, asking why we were there. I politely asked to see our agent; she rolled her eyes and reluctantly led the way. Waddling. Our agent struggled with her computer and eventually took us to another employee's office. That employee was clearly reluctant to handle the claim—constantly sighing, huffing, and making snide remarks. Yes. It must be so hard working in an office with nice cool air.
