Select Health

This is a review for 2024 and 2025. We switched to another insurance beginning of 2026 after they moved away from $0 deductible on health insurance and increased copays on most services. Today I learnt what we really lost by switching. You won’t find a better or more professional customer service. For the past 2 years I never had a bad experience with any of the people answering our calls, instead they were the nicest people, and whether they faked it or not, they showed us that they care. Today, after a whole week calling our new insurance and spending over 4 hours in total on the phone with them, I couldn’t speak to one manager, to one person who can help. My son had to go off his meds because a whole week wasn’t enough for them to prior authorize one med. I’ve never lost it on the phone

The time that it took to get someone on the phone was over 45 minutes. That included three separate calls where I was hung up on by the automated system twice. However, once I finally got a human being on the phone, they were extremely competent and extremely patient and extremely helpful with helping me resolve the billing issue that I called them out. If they could find a way to reduce the call wait times to a reasonable amount of time, the experience would have been five star.

Select Health customer service was so amazing now I just have to wait a year to switch back. 😢 I miss ya’ll! I just wish you weren’t so expensive in 2026 . Hopefully I can come back next year. Select Health has top-notch and thorough. Customer Service and I literally used to call these people once a week. So friendly and compassionate

Horrible. They gave me a flex card to use as reward benefits BUT NOTHING IN LAS VEGAS ACCEPTS IT. So all my points for exams ect were worthless. And all my doctors complained how stingy and cheap they were. Thank God I was able to go back to Humana. Humana is the best insurance I've ever had, never should have switched to Select Health.

I wish I could give 0 or negative stars. Do yourself a favor and avoid Intermountain health and select health at all costs. I’ve tried 3 times to schedule an appointment with a primary care doctor who their website says is available in network and each time I’m contacted by the doctors office to say they only accept Medicare patients or aren’t accepting new patients. I think their strategy to make money is to make it as hard as possible to access care.
