Secretary of State Office

We bought a used car in Owosso area and made an online appointment at the Owosso Secretary of State branch to put the title in our name and transfer the plates. We were impressed by the efficiency of the process. There was a welcoming greeter who took our name when we walked in and said someone would be with us shortly and to have a seat. Most everyone had made an online appointment except one gentleman who said he doesn’t “do computers” but I noticed he didn’t have to wait long either. We recall the long lines in the past when everyone took a number, the place was packed and there never seemed to be enough help. Today we were pleasantly surprised to be in and out of the office in 15 minutes and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Debbie was so incredibly helpful and understanding today with my extenuating circumstances at the Owosso S.O.S office. I made an appointment. I had a tragic death in my family and she went above and beyond with her manager (sorry I don't know her name) to accommodate me during one of the most absolutely worst times in my life. Thank you for your consideration, kindness and human connection. Today, you wore Angel's wings! Thank you. Sincerely.

Had to go there on 3 different dates last month all for different reasons. Each and everytime I/we went there was a minimum of an 1:30 minutes waiting time, that's redicules and we went at different time's of the day to see if it made a difference but No it didn't. They are so busy they need more customer service works to lessen our wait time. My time is valuable to me! And crying babies from other customers add to the longing wait!

Definitely a rude woman who works there, doesn't do her job right and than takes it out on the customers. Not my fault you didn't double check the paperwork. Than call my grandma's phone, just to hang up on me when I requested more information. I'd like to know her name so I don't use her again. Worst experience at this sos to date.

I have been many times even prior to covid, but this last time, I had it up to here. Had to get a title for a very old car, basically the car didn't exist in their computer anymore. Multiple family members went in there to ask what they needed for the title, each time the person at the desk said something else. By the time we waited and got up there, the lady said we needed a death certificate (which we didnt). By that point, we had had it. Went to the one in St Charles and was in and out within 15 minutes. Might be a drive for some, but please skip Owosso and just go somewhere else, so not worth the time.
