Safeco Insurance

I have been a loyal customer for 16 years and have paid tens of thousands of dollars in premiums that they seem to raise every single year without ever filing a claim. The one time I actually needed help with my roof, they found a loophole to deny it. They are happy to take your money for decades, but they won't be there when you actually need them. Avoid this company if you want real coverage.

I've been paying for years to have my house insured with this awful company, I never made a claim, and when the day came to need something I'd paid for so long, they came up with all sorts of excuses to ignore my claim. The staff is incredibly rude, and the inspectors they send don't even do their jobs properly. Save yourself the trouble and don't give your money to this terrible company. They're a scam; they don't even deserve one star.

After being with them for 2 years, I am leaving as they almost doubled my home owner's insurance from 2,300 to the new 4,000, with no claims, and they dropped my car insurance policy for a speeding ticket that is almost 4 years old. Do the math on that, the ticket is older than my time with the company. It's the only ticket my wife or I have ever gotten in 14 years of driving each. Again, never had a claim with them, updated the electrical a few months ago at their demand, and now they drop my auto, costing me the home and auto discount. Update on this: After canceling both home and auto policies, I received a notice from my home lender that Safeco charged my account for the 4,000 for the new policy a week after canceling, and a full 15 days before the new policy would have gone into effec

After a huge premium increase, I switched my home insurance from another company cancelled my Safeco home insurance on April 1, 2025. The process was simple and I received a confirmation letter by mail 2 days later. Now let me inform you of the process of getting my faulty paid premium back: I was told by 2 Safeco reps that the payment was processed (not that is not shipped) on April 1, 2025 and it would take 7 to 10 days to received the check. After 24 days, I contacted Safeco and asked them to resend AA check in a trackable form. I was told by the 2 reps that that wasn’t possible even when I offered to pay for it. Had them for 3 years no tickets no wrecks nothing price went up and up and up I called to see how I can reduce it as it was just basic liability no ride side assistance and was costing about $200 a month I started at $86 a month. I found another insurance company but I filed a claim to get some minor chips in my windshield fixed the tech they sent turned it into a large crack and then they said I have to pay $500 to replace the windshield their tech they sent out damaged when I called they couldn’t get a supervisor on the phone and had me on hold for about an hour. Terrible customer service and shame on this company for the way they handled all the situations and concerns. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
