Rocky Mountain Health Plans a UnitedHealthcare Company

I talked with Laveem today about finding a provider and I had such a wonderful experience. He really listened and reassured me that that everything was going to be okay. They hired compassionate people who actually care a lot! So glad I have United.

My wife and I had Rocky Mountain United Health for a couple years. For the most part the plan was pretty easy to use and they have a web portal that helps a lot. However, there was incorrect information about which facilities were in-network posted about 18 months ago. My wife needed a routine ultrasound performed and I checked our portal before hand and it said that the procedure and facility were in-network. The hospital also confirmed that our plan was covered. Unknown to us, when the hospital (Good Samaritan in Lafayette CO) billed Rocky Mountain United Health, it came back as out-of-network. The hospital sent us a bill for $4400 16 months later! I've had multiple bad experiences in the 20 months I've been on their plan. Two years in a row I've had to pay for my sons medication out of pocket because their paperwork wasn't ready until 2 weeks into the new year. They lost record of a payment that I made. Even though I made the payment by credit card, they never applied it. This resulted in my insurance being cancelled twice. Both times I was reinstated, but had to spend HOURS dealing with multiple people who told me conflicting information. In one conversation I would be told they found the payment and would apply it, then, the next time I would be told that conversation never happened. This company has gone downhill. I couldn't get anyone on the phone that I could actually understand. I kept getting asked who my provider is... but the number I called is supposed to be my provider's phone number. 🤯 I tried updating my autopay but it never got updated for some reason. And then, I was never notified my payments weren't going through. No email correspondence or anything. I couldn't get any meaningful communication with anyone on the phone and I tried calling 3 times... got nowhere. Time for a new insurance company. 👋

Absolutely terrible in every way ever since United Healthcare took over RMHP. Nothing but obstacles and misinformation on their end. Don't count on having anything covered unless all you want are simple things like antibiotics or pain pills. You'll get the runaround until you're so stressed out you finally give up. None of their employees are capable of communicating accurate information. The cognitive level of their average customer service rep is approximately 3rd grade reading level. No higher level thinking skills are available to resolve their own errors. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THIS COMPANY IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY!
