Protective Life / Annuities. The very worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. Kind and friendly but NO real solid help in getting you answers or correcting their mistakes . They hold your money hostage even when you’ve requested it using all the correct Forms requested by Protective. As far as money growth, there are better places to pursue an annuity. Athene is where I’d park my funds .

I have tried two times and endless phone calls to transfer my policy. The paperwork you received to fill out is not printable. Costumer service is automated and who listen to a computer type for minutes to finally reach an agent that is unable to help. John Hancock is much better.

Horrible customer service. They dropped our policy after they typed in our new bank account wrongly and never sent any follow up that the numbers didn’t work. Which maybe is a blessing because I can’t imagine working with the horrible customer service department if anyone actually passed away. Highly recommend looking anywhere else for policy coverage.

I was told my policy would cancel automatically if I turned off auto billing—yet it didn’t. Total scam tactics. If they make canceling this difficult, I can only imagine how bad a claims process would be. Beware.

Protective Life denied me life insurance based on a supposed medical issue that does not exist in my records. I’ve thoroughly reviewed all of my documentation and even consulted my doctor, who confirmed there is no such issue and has offered to write a letter stating as much. The only plausible explanation is that Protective Life made a mistake during underwriting. Unfortunately, I’ve hit a wall trying to resolve it. Despite reaching out multiple times—including requests escalated to supervisors—I’ve received no call back, no explanation, and no meaningful help. Protective has been completely unresponsive.
