Progressive Insurance - Claims Office

Like many others- I wish I could give NEGATIVE stars, progressive is absolutely the worst car insurance I’ve ever had- not only did they charge me to cancel with them years ago (and conveniently didn’t tell me they were charging me, leading to my credit tanking) but my agent is seemingly refusing to put the correct address on file and now they want to charge me SEVEN HUNDRED EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!! dollars a month or they’ll cancel my policy today. This is absolutely ridiculous, the customer service rep I talked to was lovely, and explained it would be MUCH faster to go through my agent, but here I am, two weeks later, $700 in debt to progressive with no coverage. I paid for 6 months of coverage up front , my family has known this man for decades and this is the treatment we get.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I was in an accident in Hammond by the truck stop with an 18 wheeler in the round about on 12/3/24. We both had Progressive Insurance. 18 wheeler was in right lane which shows you are to go straight or turn right. I was in left lane to go straight or go around the round about. 18 wheeler came in to my lane and drug me because he decided to go around the round about. Police report said he was at fault with 2 violations. 102-Failed to keep in proper lane and 103-Failed to yield right away. 18 wheeler driver argued with police officer that it was 1 lane and not 2. His insurance agent went back and forth said he said it was a one lane. I went and took pictures of the sign showing 2 lanes, then he said he heard my horn but didn’t see me. My a

If there was an option to leave no stars I would have. We canceled someone's insurance and they wanted to know why and we told them we couldn't afford them no more and they took the payment anyways the two days before the payment was due. Had new insurance to take over that day and they took their payment anyways and eventually sent it back after they payment sent our account in the whole left us with a NSF charge with the bank. Here we are two weeks later paying the NSF charges. Took $300. They are horrible and even stated, "I hope we gain you back later". No you will not!!

Been a customer of Progressive for my homeowners insurance for years. Recently, without any reason, they increased my policy by 60% annually. I called them up to try and reduce coverage, was told a new policy would need to be written since my existing policy was with an agent. We did that and I was able to reduce the cost. I was told this would be setup on my app allowing me to use Autopay (which I use for everything as I don't like having to do bills each month or year). I got a notice that my old policy (for homeowners) was about to expire, but i expected that. 3 months later, I call progressive and they tell me I don't have insurance. I explain the situation about a new policy and they have no record of it. So, I say, ok, I must have made a mistake (I took the responsibility).

Progressive is hands-down the worst insurance company we have ever dealt with! It has been a month and a half now since our car accident. The other party was at fault but, unfortunately, their insurance company is Progressive. An adjuster was finally supposed to call us last Thursday but never called. Neither the agent that was assigned to our claim nor her supervisor has returned our calls since then. It is now Wednesday of the following week. We are now reaching out to a lawyer to explore our options. My advice is to stay clear of this business and find another insurer. They are terrible!
