Absolute garbage. Won’t approve you to leave their network for special treatments. Denied us of care for cancer at John Hopkins who accepts our insurance. If I could rate them zero stars I would
The worst. Because they claim they are self-insured, which is a pretty sketchy claim, they are not governed by the PA State Insurance Commission. If you have an issue with coverage? Good luck. There is no independent oversight. What they cover has been steadily eroding. Many medically necessary diagnostic services for people with chronic conditions now fall into the deductible. Between the high co-pays & high deductibles this has turned into rationed care. The customer service is beyond horrible. Different answers from different agents on the same questions.
If you're eligible, you know: They're good people doing their best to do right by good people. I've never had a serious problem with my insurance through them, and I appreciate their hard work.
Customer service in this organization is not very helpful and in many cases short and rude when you call . Management should consider some type of customer service training as it appears that these folks are either overworked and stressed out or enjoy being rude and unhelpful to customers who have plans tbrough PEBTF. It seems to be consistent throughout the organization with general questions. On the contrary Aetna and CVS caremark are extremely helpful and friendly when you call . In the case of Aetna they have a survey at the end of their call and maybe PEBTF should consider the same .
I have Highmark Blue Cross ppo through PEBTF. I received a bill after going for a doctor's visit and it stated at the bottom of the bill $5 copay was put towards 8500 dollars out of pocket for the year. I called pebtf , ask them why my copay went from $1,500 to $8,500? the person tried to reassure me that it was $1,500 not $8,500 but she could not explain why $8,500 was at the bottom of the bill that was Outta pocket.. she was telling me to ignore that $8,500. Well I said to myself this conversation is not going anywhere so I wanted to end it so she said is there anything else that I can do for you and I said if anybody is running for office in is running for medicare-for-all, please vote for them because this is ridiculous. If my wife gets a serious illness and I get a serious illness, t
