MVP Health Care

Without any notice to us, MVP Health Plan quietly requested the disenrollment of my elderly mother with dementia from her Medicaid managed care plan. No phone call. No letter. No warning. We only found out when she was turned away at her neurologist’s office because her insurance had been quietly canceled. When questioned, MVP gave us contradiction after contradiction: • They first blamed the local Department of Social Services (DSS), but DSS confirmed on a recorded call that the disenrollment was requested by MVP. • MVP then claimed a care manager attempted to notify us by phone on July 24, also false. We have that call recorded. The care manager was actively attempting to backdate a required PCSP after they had already authorized a care plan without one. • DSS has since confirmed they

Honestly I don't get why all of the bad reviews are here, because these people have literally saved my life. From calling to check on me to make sure I'm getting the care I need, calling my cardiologist to speed up appointments when I was relapsing, speeding up sleep studies so that I can get a CPAP machine and then immediately approving it so that my heart can literally get a break so it has a chance to heal. I would definitely recommend these people to anyone.

I have never dealt with an organization which was so unprofessional, lacking even a modicum of knowledge. I spent SIX hours on the phone with MVP re RX. They act like the request is outside their process— notwithstanding the RX have been in process for over THREE years. Letters to former doctors, incorrect RXs, denials, tge approvals, then denials again! CAN ANYONE STRAIGHTEN THEM OUT TO HELP CLIENTS!

They need to explain why they take on Medicaid managed care plan members and then treat those particular customers like complete garbage, especially those of us who are homeless. Homeless people are entitled to coverage in this state, yet these psychos have harassed me about addresses repeatedly.

My coverage was cancelled because I didn't respond to a request to verify my address. Called and my coverage was allegedly reestablished beginning the following month. Was told new cards would arrive by mail. Nothing came so I called and representative, who was not friendly, told me my old coverage had simply been reactivated, so I could just continue using my existing cards. Now I'm at an urgent care and the computer system is showing I have no coverage and, of course, you cannot reach an MVP representative on a Saturday evening to get the situation rectified. I will be switching to CDPHP asap. I would not recommend MVP to anyone.
