We have been unsuccessful in getting HPI to pay completely valid pediatric preventative dental claims. Waited hours on hold for an hour plus numerous times and most times nobody ever picks up. When I do get a rep, I get a different story each time about why the claims haven't been paid. The HR department that chose to offer their employees this miserable insurance has gotten involved to try to get the claims paid and still nothing. We have had this experience with multiple different patients over the last year. I work with many insurance companies and have never experienced anything like this.

This is the worst insurance company that I've ever dealt with. It's been over a year and I still have outstanding claims. I call them every 2 weeks and get a different story or basically no information. The communication between the customer service reps and their claims department is a joke.

Absolutely useless claims department and customer service. Refusing to pay a claim that is coded correctly as preventative care, leaving the claim sitting out in the ether, unattended, while I as the member continue to receive bills that I am not responsible for. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Continually not paying out claims. We keep receiving bills and calls from providers offices and Quest diagnostic. I call, and they tell me it approved for payment, and we are not sure why its not paid. a month or 2 go by, more phone calls and the claims are still not paid.

Refused my dependent care reimbursement, appealed it, denied that all because it was originally submitted a couple of dates past the due date. I earned $3,500 pre-tax to be reimbursed and they kept it all over semantics! Appeal proved that my entire month was facing a personal hardship which is why I submitted late and they couldn't have cared less. Lost $3,500 of my annual income to them.
