I had an Allstate agent in Nashville for 20 years who was outstanding. So, when I moved to Georgia I stuck with Allstate. I've been with Dean Bernard for many years now. I definitely haven't received the same customer service. If you enjoy phone trees, occasionally getting rerouted to India, and sometimes not getting called back for weeks, Dean Bernard is the office for you. I switched companies this past week only to find out I've also been overpaying. I've been ensuring three cars, a boat, and a house with Allstate. I saved almost $2,000 a year for the same coverage and actually have an agent I can talk to now.
well... there was a problem with my auto pay. I called and got that handled the same day, no problem. However, there was a "fee" that the agent I spoke with on the phone either failed to mention or didn't know about. bear in mind that up until this point I would receive an email telling me that they were taking payment and the date as well as any other transactions. When I notice that they have not contacted me about taking an insurance payment I contact the agent. she tells me I HAVE BEEN CANCELED. when I asked why she said she would find out and call me back... I called her back HOURS later. the short version is... they sent a letter (snail mail) telling me that I owed $25 dollars and needed to pay immediately or I would get canceled. I NEVER GOT SAID LETTER. bear in mind up until that p
I submitted an initial roof claim back in 2023 for wind/hail damage. My contractor at the time performed a brittle test, at the request of the adjuster representing Allstate. The contractor took photos documenting the failed repair of shingles. After consideration of this, Allstate only wanted to pay for repairs to the roof, instead of a full replacement. My contractor also stated it would be a huge liability for them to repair the roof, as it would cause more damage. So my husband and I decided to have nothing done to the roof. Fast forward to now, I decided to look in to a roof replacement again. The old claim was reopened and assigned to a new adjuster. We have had allstate for years and paid them graciously for multiple policy types...however, they are denying a standard hail claim for no reason at all on our house. While denying our specific claim, they have approved our direct neighbor for the same claim , the same damage, and the same storm date. Their claim repsonse fully acknowledges the hail damage, but the amount they have approved in dollars for repairs is laughably low and unrealistic. They might have well just denied it outright. This type of differential treatment is abhorent. We are very displeases. They are also moving soon to ACV (actual cash value) policy on roofing claims, while not reducing premiums, basically screwing every customer they have. Dean is an absolute expert in his field and knows how to provide you with the insurance you need in the most cost effective way possible. We recently had to make a claim on one of our properties which is the true test of an insurance agent. Dean and his team promptly processed the claim and we were fully reimbursed for our damages very quickly. I will be a customer of Dean's forever.
