Amerihealth Carita is the most incompatent , rude, dishonest, decieving, inhumane group of public service workers, from the members services department to the rapid response, to the pharmacy specialists, to their pre authorization department, I've been dealing with life threatening health issues since June, I've been lied to hung up on numerous times, and they do not offer confirmation numbers for encounters, so you can only report people by the first name and last initial, so whatever name they give you that's what your working with , and they don't transcribe what you report correctly anyway. They are horrible.

This company has me at my absolute limit. I’ve made several calls over several months to ask them to change old information that prevents me from getting the care I need. Most times the people I spoke to were kind, but nothing changed and I’ve had the same issue for months. It should be as simple as a click of the button to get rid of it but it’s taken months and it is still not resolved.

Like most on these reviews, I wonder what the point of health insurance is if it's going to deny any sort of healthcare. My doctor's spends months trying to push thru a medication she recommends and says I need, after numerous other failed medications that Amerihealth "liked more" (read: cheaper and less effective with worse side effects). They still deny it. My request for necessary surgery is denied because I'm working with someone out of network, ignoring the fact that there are zero such surgeons in network. This place is a scam insurance company with no interest in health or the needs of any of its consumers. I guess they kind of all are now, but I've had slightly better. We need more Luigis.

Worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. You're always hung up on, calls never get returned, services are constantly getting denied ESPECIALLY IF YOUR CHILD IS SPECIAL NEEDS. I am so tired of it. They don't care to service their patients. UPDATE: I have called about 25 times over the last two weeks to get an OLD insurance removed from 2015, so that my LIFE SUSTAINING medicine can be covered. Each person I talked to claims they filed for an urgent removal, both in member services and pharmacy. Still nothing has been done about it. I'm struggling with my mental health over this and they could care less. I'm so disgusted with this place as an insurance company. They should not be responsible for people's health.
