Aetna

Spent 8 years with Aetna. Thankfully did not need them a lot, but when I did, noticed they are in the habit of denying claims. The online customer portal is not very good or helpful and it feels deliberately obscure/opaque for customers. The most egregious thing that happened besides the claim denial was that somehow Aetna leaked my plan data to another insurance company (yes, seriously) to be listed as someone else's primary insurance, such that I started getting unknown claims against my plan, which I had to get reversed. Trying to resolve it was a nightmare because as a non-customer I couldn't contact the other insurance company. Regardless, it should have been on Aetna and it should have never happened if they were properly safeguarding my PPI/PHI and actually fully validated before gi

My daughter is a transplant patient. We've been with another MCO for the past 12 years, but it was discontinued. New on Aetna and suddenly we can not refill her medications at our local Wegmans pharmacy anymore, because her medications are considered "specialty" and can only be refilled at a specialty pharmacy, as if our lives are haven't been complicated enough already, we now need to go extra mile to get her medications

Waiting for them to approve radiation for breast cancer. Once the diagnosis is cancer, there should be no waiting on an ins company’s “doctor” Evercore for them to approve radiation. It is an automatic part of the treatment. So offended and if they delay to push this to next year, it pushes me out of the range best odds success rates for my start…it will be a costly mistake by them

If I could give this insurance 0 stars I would. They approve a procedure and call you the next day and deny it. They approved a ct scan for my abdomen and pelvis, but not for my chest? Even though my last scan it was all completely approved????!! This is the worst insurance and the WORST customer service. They’re fast to take your money, but are useless when it comes to actually helping you.
