This location does offer on-the-spot International Drivers Permits, but BE FOREWARNED! The standard cost for an IDP from AAA has been $20, plus $10 if they take photos. Since most WA AAA locations have closed, Online orders now mandate the $10 photo fee, plus $16 to $42 in shipping charges. The AAA.com national website (which also lists this location to get your IDP locally) says you can apply locally for only $20, and this may be the case in other states, but Washington State AAA has chosen to add a $30 “convenience” fee, 150% of the standard fee, with no reduction for providing your own photos. So even with the exorbitant shipping charges, it’s still cheaper to order online. Too bad AAA has a government-sanctioned monopoly on the IDP for the USA.

The cost of IDP was $20 last year when I applied bringing my own passport photo. But when I walked in this afternoon, they said its $30 for photos using mine or theirs. The total turned out to be $50. I felt I got scammed but at this point, they are a monopoly for IDP. Don't really have many other choices except applying online, but that's not much cheaper either.

Came here to get our IDP (did not realized all retail locations are closed in WA and could not wait for online application). It was super quick in & out! $20 for processing + $30 for photos.

We had an expired IDP and brought it in to get renewed. They still wouldn’t take the photo they used for that old IDP, they said they have to take new ones and it doesn’t change the extra $30 photo fee if you bring in your own. But on AAA website it says you can bring in your own. (see photo below!!) what a scam!!

People in the office are great. What is not great is the business model to charge $30 for photos, even if you bring your own. AAA needs to be transparent, rather than using an underhanded business model to jack up its prices. You'll never get an IDP for the official fee of $20. It will be $50.
