I would like to recognize Matthew, a Roadside Technician with the AAA Fleet of Portland, ME, for truly exceptional service. Matthew arrived with 45 minutes of my call on 12/11/25 to replace a battery that had failed but was still under AAA’s three-year warranty. From start to finish, his professionalism and kindness stood out. He was super friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to work with - even while working in the extremely cold Maine weather. Brrr! What impressed me most was his clear and thoughtful communication. Matthew kept me well informed about when he would arrive, what he needed to do, and exactly what had been done once the job was complete. Throughout the entire visit, he showed real concern for my vehicle, and for my safety and comfort given the weather conditions. M

I’ve had AAA for over 40 years…. Great service for most all the years until recently. We won’t give up yet…. Hoping they can work out their blips .

AAA Marginal Way, Portland. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly I stopped in for my annual international driving permit. I was out the door before I realized I hadn’t taken my coat off. Thanks to all the helpful staff. We have been members for years.

Been a AAA member for ages. We just needed a simple jump start, after submitting my request via app, I get a call saying they can't help because of the location. I ask what else I can do, because otherwise I am stranded, over an hour from home. I don't get an answer and keep getting the same non-answer, corporate canned response. The service lady hangs up on me, and cancels the request when I'm irritated, as they aren't even willing to talk about options or help. Ended up having to walk around Portland at 9pm, to a nearby restaurant, ask strangers for help, and the folks working there helped bump start my car. Buy jumper cables, jump backs, and check your spare tires. Yourself and fellow townsfolk are more reliable and helpful, than AAA unfortunately.

Sharing my experience with AAA on the evening of 12.20.24: I experienced a flat tire just outside of the Costco shopping center. When I called, I was able to provide my exact GPS location. The roadside assistance app estimated time of arrival as 45 minutes, but they arrived much earlier than anticipated and pulled right up to my car in that huge parking lot. When the young man saw that I was in a left foot aircast and on crutches, he told me to stay in the car and he would take care of everything, and he did. The tire was not repairable. He walked over to the Costco Tire center and asked if they could look into replacing my tires. He also told me he would wait to make sure I had resolution. I was so grateful for his kindness and integrity. We have been AAA members for as long as I
