Complaint related to a Client Navigation Nightmare: I have a Life Insurance Policy and an LTC Policy with Unum. I just wanted updated policy information on my coverage which is current and paid up to date. Unfortunately, there is no online access to the policies I hold with Unum. I called three times due to menu loops that didn't give me the proper menu choice. The third time I reached a live person and was transferred to different service reps. 7 times. Each time I waited in queue. Each representative was pleasant but asked me my name, social and date of birth. Six of the seven times, they didn't have access to the information needed. There was one warm transfer but the receiving rep. still asked me for the information again. They estimated 8 days for me to receive the information I

If you own a business and are looking to obtain coverage for your employees you should first look into how they handle dealing with claims etc. The amount of time I've spent on hold just waiting to talk to someone is disgusting. Information provided was poor every call and made me feel sorry for others who have had to go through the same process with them.

i can’t tell you how horrible this company is to deal with, but i will share with you how they have been so unbelievably horrible i have been out of work with a massive medical problem and have to have at home nurses and doctors they think i can run right back to work now im out of money and they are still dragging there feet 3 weeks it took them to send one thing for my doctors to do and now im still waiting. DO NOT use unum. i asked questions and all i get is the same response in a different tone they are pathetic and don’t care about the people they should be helping.

If you’re going to take out a temporary disability policy here offered thru your employer - DON’T. They change policy rules constantly, and when you call they try to get very smooth. They lie. Our policy states “Up too One Thousand Dollars Weekly” but they’re paying us SEVEN DOLLARS A WEEK, stating that we’re also collecting disability from NJ. Haven’t seen a dime from NJ and UNUM has sent us multiple letters, of which - each letter says something different. A formal complaint has been filed with Consumer Affairs of NJ along with the BBB. I suggest you keep a paper trail, because they will scam their way out of paying you.

An absolute cluster of a company. Don't let them handle your leave; they aren't capable of spelling your name after three corrections.
