They accepted my father into a rehabilitation full care facility so he could prepare to fight stage 4 cancer. Then declined the care after determining he could “live independently”. We got the call the day before Thanksgiving, giving us little to no resources to pivot. All leaving him responsible for private pay since he has no where to go. I suppose it is cheaper to let him die “independently living” than with dignity or help.

Please do not contract with UHC or UMR for your employee's benefits! We hold medical insurance through UMR, a subsidiary of UHC (This is am employer policy administered by UMR). I have now been waiting for a year to receive payment for prenatal care incurred for our daughter's birth. I have submitted clear documentation for the services provided, for our payment out of pocket, explained in writing, and over the phone but they have continued to deny payment and file prenatal office visits as surgery claims! It is covered under our plan, and HR keeps directing me to UMR or Clear Health. We have been through internal appeals, third party appeals, I'm going to take this to the BOL EBSA. Absurd. I wish I could go back to BCBS! UHC considers two of my tests that were performed during a preventive health exam not preventive even when it was submitted as preventive by my doctor's office. These were always covered for me when I was with BCBS and now this is the first year that I have to pay out of pocket for them! With all of the money given by us to UHC they still nickel and dime us...ridiculous!

Absolute joke of a health insurance company and not hard to see why so many people are inflamed and incensed by their pricing strategies. Previously I was on Blue Cross Blue Shield and our plan was so much better, but ever since moving to United healthcare, my costs have gone up. My company cut corners and United Healthcare was such a great asset for that.

UHC took $136 from my checking account they weren't authorized to take. Took money twice for a prescription payment plan. It is next to impossible to speak to customer support in the U.S.A so you can clearly understand what is being said.
