Thomas La Croix: Allstate Insurance

I had a terrible experience with Allstate agents Jules and Tom. They were unprofessional and made inappropriate remarks, including saying “we’re glad to get rid of you.” I only asked to cancel my car insurance, but they cancelled my renters insurance without my permission. When I asked for reinstatement, they refused and said I’d have to buy it again. They also promised to email my documents several times and never did. I felt discriminated against and treated unfairly. I do not recommend this office, and I’m asking Allstate corporate to investigate their behavior. I called corporate and they fixed everything for me, made them apologize and Tom kept arguing he was right and his Boss said he was totally wrong and out of order. When I first contacted Tom, I wasn’t sure what to expect. He explained my current coverages and what he could offer me in a way that I could understand. I elected to switch to Allstate and have been very happy ever since. Anytime I call the office, I am treated with respect. My concerns are quickly handled with professionalism. Anytime I have to call the 800 number, the representative is always polite and professional. I am confident in Allstate as an insurance company and always recommend to friends. On the couple of occasions that I needed to place a claim, the process was painless and quick. Follow up calls were quick and if I had any concerns, they were taken care of immediately. Based on the details on Google and their website, they are open till 8 on weeknights. A car that I own that is rarely driven needed to go for inspection and I had to reinstate insurance that I had suspended. I called before 6pm and the call went unanswered. Just to be sure that I wasn’t being impatient and not letting the phone ring long enough, I called back a second time and let the phone ring quite awhile, again unanswered. It made me question if my agent had perhaps gone out of business because the message on the answering machine was a bit cryptic. I called Allstate and had to explain the circumstances of why my one car’s insurance was temporarily uninsured which I wouldn’t have had to do if it were my agent. Not their shining hour.

My experience with obtaining the insurance was a very easy process. The reps were very nice and helped a lot. Now that I have had an incident where I need to use my policy the communication is horrible. My calls, voicemails and emails are being ignored and it has been months, my claim is still open and this is very disappointing to pay monthly for the security of this policy thinking that if anything happens you will be covered and now this! 2 months of calling, emailing and leaving messages and no response! A SCAM I wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase insurance from them.

Bring an attorney along, because when it comes down to it, this office does not know anything about policy. They failed to add rental car coverage, which they admitted. They said due to their failure to add to my policy, they would reimburse me after I rented car after an accident. It's been two months now trying to get them to honor their word. I have reached out to PA Insurance Dept, as I advise others do, as well.
