The Hartford

Horrible experience. Had both home & auto with Hartford. I had an accident, comprehensive, no other car involved. The repair was $3600. I got a note saying my rate would go up for the next 5 years. Well, my premium more than doubled and 5 years at an extra $200 a month would be $12,000. Called and the rep said 25% of the increase was a Michigan increase and 75% of it was the accident. No compensation for the accident & claim free years. My brother ( with another agency) has had 2 accidents without any increase at all? Pretty sad. I cancelled both policies.

0/5 Stars One of the worst insurance companies ever. They claim to care about your health and wellness. They don't. They could careless.... I have a neurological issue going on were I've had to get 2 MRIs and seeing my doctor quite a bit trying to figure it out. My doctor recommended I dont drive until they figure out what's causing these issues and we set up an appointment for neurology but it would be a few months. I had sent over all this information to the Hartford so I could get disability to help me pay off my almost 10k in medical debt now and they denied it. Basically said they know more then doctors and im fine. Even told me I can drive to do work. Who are these people and how are they licensed to decide things like this? Horrible experience, with the Hartford Insurance Co., with a disability claim, through work. They never approved my claim, I am still dealing with a financial fallout, a year later. I was off 18 wks with no pay. I almost lost my car, apt. couldn't pay my bills. It was horrible. I don't recommend the Hartford. Our co. switched over to Unium Insurance , much better. Hartford refuses to pay.

How can I give a zero star rating? A business's ladder fell on my car, the business was extremely helpful and insured by the Hartford. 4 months later still dealing with the damage, absolutely no communication from the Hartford unless you contact them. Nothing but a run around, I would never, under any circumstance use this company.

Just awful company, refused to help with a payment tech issue, this went on for 9 months after repeatedly asking for help. Every single month. Blamed me but wouldn’t find an error nor accept any responsibility on their part. Still waiting for a resolution but not happening. If I could give a minus I would. We have been with them for years but no more if this nonsense and stubbornness on the part of Hartford.
