Shelter Insurance - John Lee

We had an absolutely awful experience with John Lee and his coworkers at Shelter Insurance. We contacted them over a month before purchasing our new home to secure homeowners insurance. We were repeatedly told that everything was taken care of. We even went to closing, paid for the insurance, and were assured that our policy would be active as of 12:00 a.m. today. It was not. John Lee’s office completely dropped the ball and left us without homeowners insurance because they failed to fund and finalize the policy as promised. When they finally tried to push it through this afternoon, after our closing date, they suddenly “hit a snag” and told us they were now refusing to insure our home due to a $1,000 liability claim from 2022.
