I previously had an active State Farm policy covering two of my vehicles. In December, before Christmas, I attempted to purchase an additional vehicle and added a new policy for that car. However, I was unable to obtain the required documentation to release the vehicle from the dealership because the policy had not yet gone through underwriting. Due to this delay, I decided not to proceed with the purchase and contacted State Farm to cancel the new policy. I was advised to contact my agent directly, which I did. My agent confirmed that since the policy was never effective, it was canceled and I would receive a refund by check. This conversation took place in December.
