Sedgwick Claims Management Services

Sedgwick is the default claims management service for CalVet. This has been an absolutely abysmal experience. I help a friend, who is a retired veteran with financial things etc, but he wants to be as independent as possible. When someone fell in his shower damaging the tile, he reported the damage as a claim on January 9th. He was instructed to get a quote for the repair, he got multiple quotes and submitted them all. He asked multiple times for confirmation that the quote was received, this response took more than a week to receive, a text saying it was received and nothing else. Today February 3rd, 6 days shy of a month after the damage was reported, I called and left a message. He also sent a text to follow up. The most unprofessional people ever. I have been dealing with a Workman's comp case since 01/01/2024. My adjuster, Abigail Bis, was super helpful until it wasn't beneficial for them to continue helping me. I am still dealing with my case. My payments have been horribly inconsistent as I was let go from my job due to the injury. I have already seen the QME medical examiner, which determines my level of disability due to the nature of my injury, however, Abigail never sent over my medical records so that whole process has been stalemated. I have been reaching out to her since early December, and she has not replied to me since 12/07/2025, when she promised to get back to me the following day. One of their clients totaled my car and put me in the hospital for a week. When it was finally time settle up damages an injuries the representative was incredibly inconsiderate, pushy, she was rude, she raised her voice at me, her entire mission was to try and minimize the situation to as small as she could get it. This is the absolute worst claims management company ever. I’m not sure why billion dollar companies like Apple and others utilize such a cheap, incompetent, inefficient third parties for their employees when they’ve been injured or hurt that work tirelessly hard on providing top notch care to their customers. My partner has gone through hell with this company amid recovering from a major surgery, then losing his dog while he was on leave. This company has told him so many mixed and incorrect messages that he had to manage his own case every day like it was his full time job, calling 2-3 different reps just to get the correct answers on the status of his claim. The party responsible for sideswiping our car was driving a vehicle insured by Sedgwick. We have provided front & rear dash cam videos, an eyewitness, & the responsible party has repeatedly taken 100% of the blame, & we’re still waiting 6 weeks later to get our car repaired. Considering all the info that I have provided & I’m still getting the run around, I can only guess that they must deny a huge percentage of claims.
