BAD CHECK WRITER! A long read but could be helpful to others. Delta Dental has increasingly gone downhill over the last few years. We've had our policy for many years and 2024 to current have been the worst. We currently live in Australia but are US citizens and are forced to use this company while overseas. Not only is the claims process ridiculous in time and effort but claims are only paid after you've had to write a book and prove why they should be. 1. We pay all our dental expenses out of pocket since this insurance isn't accepted in Australia. After we've had services done, each person has a form to fill out that's very detailed and not even relevant to the country coding. 2. Delta Dental will not allow you to submit claims via email. Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service Experience with Delta Care Provider Line Dear Delta Care Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the poor level of customer service I received during a recent call to your company's provider line. The call was made on behalf of a patient we are trying to resolve an issue for the authorization. During this call, I encountered several significant issues that severely impacted my ability to address the concerns I had. Firstly, the initial representative I spoke with simply transferred the call back to the IVR system after keeping me on hold for an unacceptable period of 10 minutes. I was fortunate to have experienced Delta Dental when it first went public in the 90's in Texas; it was a dream...best dentists, and customer service. Fast forward to 2016, Georgia? Exceeded expectations. Then, it became impossible. Instead of insuring local providers, and helping people stay local, they begin this not updated search for places, and providers they know nothing about. They are not succeeding. Example: I Google Delta Dental. I get offices in three different cities five hours away, same message. Recording: "Are you the Provider, or are you a Member?" Neither. I am calling to inquire about enrollment. It gets worse after that.

Absolutely one of the worst, unfriendly, overly complicated, phone trees I have ever experienced. And I am an IT consultant - so you know I call a lot of different ones. Obviously no VP or anyone that gives a darn about people being able to get to a human has ever reviewed this thing.

I own Delta Insruance Advisors in Elmhurst Il and can solicit Delta Dental to my customers. However, I am inundated with calls from Seniors, as well as others. I'm told the same story, there is no Customer Service or Direction. Note, the people calling are not my customer's. Information is giving our number and some are being directed to us as well, from CA? Come on....
