A predatory multi-level marketing company that recruits representatives using the same tactics as religious cults, after the indoctrination process, representatives are sent to sell to basic financial products and the recruitment process itself to friends, family, etc. The encounter I had with Primerica was with a friend who went through the recruitment process and had become intrusively zealous in trying to sell basic term life insurance. My friend had several new friends, all tiered above him, that he insisted upon over and over that I set up a meeting with.
