My term policy expires in September and I wanted to cancel early. They took 10 days to let me know they couldn't process the application because it didn't have a "wet" signature. That is some serious BS because all you need according to my contract is a verbal notice. Bunch of scamers trying to needle you for 4k a month when your term expires.

My brother-in-law recently died and was a policy holder at Mutual Trust. I was trying to assist my sister in getting information on what she needed to file a claim. The first person on the phone was rude, did not identify themselves until specifically asked who they were, and had an incredibly rude phone manners. Coco, was horrid. Any other representative was very pleasant.

This company does not post on its website any email address so one has to phone a representative which has also been extremely difficult. As my father has died in Greece the complications continue to grow as the time that the office in Chicago everything closes in Athens. The wait time on the phone was over an hour at 9:05 Chicago time. Their secure website also did not work. It has been very frustrating, disappointing and extremely unprofessional. Especially since my father had policies with MetLife. These went smoothly and everything was straight forward. I do not recommend Mutual Trust especially when your father has just passed.

I had a disappointing experience with Mutual Trust Life Insurance. After holding the policy for some 8 years, I no longer needed it and wanted to surrender it. Fortunately, I wanted to use the funds for a real estate down payment and not due to a death on the policy. It was very inconvenient surrendering the policy and ultimately getting these funds. I hate to think if the policy was activated due to death and how unappealing it would have been to deal with the comedy of errors this company made if it were my beneficiary needing the funds in the event of my death.
