Mercury Insurance

We had a very frustrating experience with Mercury. We paid our policy in full, then got short notice they were cancelling a couple months in due to our electrical panel. We have an older home but have never had issues with our panel for insurance coverage until this year. They would not work with us during the time it took to get electrical quotes and an electrician scheduled. So, we had to find a new provider and pay out of pocket. While they were quick to cancel, they were not quick to refund our prorated premium. Still waiting on it! Very disappointed in their communication and customer service.

Absolute worst insurance company out there. I was stopped in traffic & hit from behind by an uninsured driver. I had my two toddlers in the back. My car was totalled. I have uninsured motorist coverage. They refused to pay the value of my car. Leaving me, a single mother of special needs twins, unable to repurchase the same valued car. They take clients premiums and then refuse to pay what is owed.

They drug their feet in the beginning of our claim so bad that we are still not anywhere close to completion going on three months. We did not choose to have a leak in our slab. Not until I contacted our adjustor's supervisor did things start moving. Then there was another lapse in month two in which three weeks that we heard nothing. Then the supervisor responded to a complaint of mine in which she turned everything on me. We even let some of the delays slide because we figured there were families (we have no kids) or more senior folks that had claims that were in worse shape than us. But once they sensed that we were patient, they took advantage.

Like other insurance companies that try to rip you, the rep tried to give me a quote that was almost $19 more than that given online. Then tried to explain it was because my wife, who is disabled (legally blind) was considered an excluded driver because she lives in the same household that I live. After going round and round finally got quote to within $3 of that given to me online. Rep was not very polite and apparently not able to withstand a civil discussion.

The lay out makes this sprawling venue feel safe and intimate.
