Keely Schmidt: Allstate Insurance

Got tired of continued price increases from SF so went on the hunt for a better provider. Allstate came in competitive and made the transition of my home, car and boat pretty seamless. Only been a few months now and have not had a claim but so far so good.

I wanted to enjoy dealing with this agency, but I found it difficult to modify policy details easily online. I didn't find Keely or her staff easy to speak with also. Any time I had asked or complained about rates, the answer was usually "we didn't offer that discount last time you asked" or that's the way the industry is currently heading. Progressive offered much better rates and a much better online user experience. I was able to save over $1000 a year on a combined policy set of Homeowners insurance and an auto policy with three vehicles and four drivers , and add additional coverages not offered to me by Allstate.

I received a marketing letter from Schmidt Insurance Group that included photos of my home and vehicle, and the owner’s excuse about everything being “publicly available” is ridiculous. Hiding behind legality does not make this any less invasive. It is a gross, tone-deaf way to market to people. Using images of someone’s private property without permission is creepy as hell. It feels predatory, not professional. If someone scraped every “public and legal” detail about Kelly Schmidt, printed it out, and mailed it to her doorstep, she would be horrified. That is exactly how this tactic feels to the rest of us. This approach is intrusive, unsettling, and flat-out deplorable. It destroys trust before a single word is exchanged. Last week I got a mailer from Keely about homeowner’s insurance that was actually lower than what I’ve been paying, which honestly made me a little skeptical at first. I’ve been with State Farm forever, and in my mind, it didn’t make much sense for my rate to drop at renewal… so I figured it might be a scam. Instead of calling the number on the mailer, I decided to go to the actual office listed on the mailer just to verify. Turns out, not only was the offer real, but because my credit was in great shape, I qualified for almost the exact same rate that was listed. No runaround, no hoops to jump through. The best part?
