It took me years to be assigned a doctor and my wife still hasn’t been assigned a doctor after 4 years. Between my employer and our contribution, we pay nearly $1000/month for an HMO plan and i have to go to the clinic for homeless people and my wife has to go to urgent care. Abysmal.

They never answer their phone and the voicemail prompt says they won’t return calls asking about authorization. I called Blue Shield of CA to find out if my procedure is pre approved and they don’t know.

This organization is truly dedicated to promoting quality care.

Terrible service, they don't answer calls and won't respond to messages. Complete bullshit!

Humboldt IPA manages my local physician Health care needs for Anthem Blue Cross. They have this really nasty habit of changing the physician that you are authorized to see. They have done this to my family 3 times causing headaches and unnecessary medical bills.
