After working with an unresponsive broker/navigator, we searched for someone else to help us change our insurance plan through the Virginia marketplace and found Melinda Kier. I cannot say enough about Melinda - she was thorough and gave us great options. I dropped the ball on getting back to her and then called her at the 11th hour before enrollment closed (literally on 1/30!). She took care of us, and enrolled us with a plan right for us. She communicates via phone, text and email and is so quick to respond. Through this process we came to find out that the previous broker we used had forgotten to re-enroll us - So without our knowledge we have been living for a month without insurance and I’m so grateful she was able to help us. She made it easy to find the Insurance company that offered my specific needs (silver sneakers program and otc allowance). Melinda is amazing, warm and knowledgeable. She helped my family out when we were trying to figure out medical coverage for my adult daughter and son. She is very responsive and showed us all of our options so that we could determine what worked best for our situation. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Seriously - call her if you are navigating your own health coverage and need some guidance.

Absolute nightmare dealing with Healthmarkets insurance agency. Was emailed two options that were the complete wrong plans in the first place. Wasn’t accepted for my address: Caused two months of headache trying to figure out and barely received any help from Lisa. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Cigna last week alone trying to sort through. Just got a call from one of their plan specialists that informed me of the reason my plan hasn’t been active the last two months and why there was so much confusion. Additionally it wasn’t even an HSA plan as I was supposed to have had. Now I can’t even contribute for the full year. Massive massive headache. Do yourself a favor and just work directly through insurance, and avoid any help from a broker because you won’t get any.
