Kurt Hathaway, the owner of Hathaway Insurance Agency, has shown little more than apathy in his role as a business owner. Though he purchased the agency over two years ago, he relied almost entirely on a long-time employee—who had been through three or four previous agents—to keep things afloat. Only when that employee gave their two-week notice did Kurt finally begin to involve himself, and even now, he appears unfamiliar with essential aspects of the business like payment processing, customer service, and staff management.
