The customer service I received was unacceptable. They even tried to make it look like it was my fault that a 200 lb buggy fell on top of me. Then they wait till you have less than 30 days to retain a lawyer. Knowing good and well it takes time to do that so that the case can be closed. So if anyone knows an attorney that will take my case I will gladly leave them all the information they need. Not only did a man cuss me out while on the phone with Ally whittingham. Ally also tried to read my medical records and obviously she didn't know what she was reading. She said I had many falls with was a lie she compared me to her mother and her health. After my house was flooded there was miscommunication about the amount of coverage I had in my policy. For 3 weeks I was operating on the assumption that I would receive about $10,000 more than what my policy covered. When the issue was discovered the managers reviewed my case and awarded me full compensation. I have only had one experience in filing a claim and they exceeded my expectations. Thanks for putting your customers first, and resolving issues fairly.

This insurance company was 100% at fault with an accident and wasn’t to go back and forth with me on payment from an auto shop estimate and payment . I guess they will be paying out more on damages and my loss wages through an attorney. Hope they have their wallets ready . All this could have been avoided. The car is in my name paid for and they want to take me though these baby steps

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I signed up for paperless billing and then they failed to notify me that the address was incorrect on my automated credit card payment, then charged me an $18 late fee, and a $30 reversal fee, and NEVER NOTIFIED ME! Not 1 email, or even in my spam email. Good thing I had bothered to login to my account and check if things were good otherwise they would've just kept charging me more and more fees without notifying me! Now they charge $8 for credit card payments? That's more than what the government charges for using a credit card. RED FLAGS ALL AROUND. Go with the bigger companies even if its a higher price.

Never have I ever experience such poor customer service or attentativeness on a claim. Had a hit and run claim last year that left my sons car BARELY drivable, and certainly not safe to drive, and it took them 3 months to fix the car. Currently dealing with a total loss claim and Monday will be 3 weeks and still not settled. They are offering thousands less than fair cash value and unwilling to negotiate. Terminating the rental car when only half our rental benefit has been reached and claim is not settled. By far the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. You cannot reach even an operator when you call them either to get information. Never again will I go with a regional insurance company and for sure, never Southern Mutual.
