Receptionist and agent lied to me when I walked in the door. Told me I had to give my SSN for a home quote. Said it was ‘South Carolina Law’ I had to do so. They weren’t aware I’m a licensed P&C agent. Why lie, why not collect it later in the event the carrier wants it to run reports, if necessary? Well, it wasn’t. I got a property policy without giving my SSN. Do better.
