Co-operative Insurance Companies

Just like others' reviews, after thirty years of paying in, jump through hoops, then drop you. First it's one issue then it isn't; then it's another, then when you comply it's back to the first issue Talk about biting the hand that feeds them ....and because I was doing some necessary siding replacement that couldn't be completed in 13 days?!!!! No wonder their rating is so low! At least our agent that originally sold their coverage was human, I feel sorry for them; now it's on their reputations! And this BS, "we value our customers"; don't even! Now we're left scrambling to find insurance; real secure! And a lot of our neighbors too!

26 years as a customer then dropped because up keep did not meet there standards I got cancer and things fell behind in my upkeep two words best describes co-op insurance that is DIRT BAGS .

They cancelled our homeowners policy after we had a relatively modest claim. Apparently they will insure you as long as you continue to pay them and they never have to settle a claim. This is not my idea of how insurance is supposed to work. The response from the owner is simply a load of rubbish.

I was a Vermont Co-operative customer for 20 years. I left. Watch out for two things from them: being overcharged even after 20 years of paying for policies, and being cancelled for unfair reasons. Here is what happened. I made a small claim in 2023. After that, I made two more claims that were formalities, requirements for applying to FEMA for flood aid. FEMA wanted an insurance rejection letter, which of course I got. Then Vermont Co-operative cancelled my policy because of "multiple claims," even though two of them were not paid. They were simply bureaucratic formalities. I would think that with all the corporate robots out there, that any agent could see that these claims were not paid, and that the company did not lose profits because of me. Cooperative Insurance Company sucks. Every year they adjust your policy without consulting the insured first. This year they did it again and it increased our premium $40 a month. We do have other bills to pay and I am a diabetic with expensive prescriptions. We hate this company.
